Description
This photograph was made as part of my series We Are Locals, exhibited on Wānaka’s waterfront in 2020 and recognised as Australian Runner-Up in the 2022 Head On Landscape Awards. I heard there was fog on the river one early morning and called Ben to see if he was keen. By the time I reached Albert Town, the fog was lifting. After the usual chaos of two young kids - lost shoes, tears and running - we made it to the river just as the sun broke through. While I stood freezing on the shoreline, Ben, pictured here, found his quiet moment, focusing on his breath.
